Italy has announced 10,500 work visas for skilled Pakistani workers following high-level talks between Mohsin Naqvi and his Italian counterpart Matteo Piantedosi during an official visit to Rome.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in internal security, curbing illegal immigration, and expanding regulated migration pathways. Both sides agreed to promote legal migration channels, with Italy committing to issuing 10,500 work visas to skilled workers from Pakistan as part of efforts to facilitate structured and lawful employment opportunities.
During the discussions, Italy reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with Pakistan in areas of mutual interest. At the request of the Pakistani interior minister, the Italian side also expressed willingness to grant visa exemptions to holders of Pakistani diplomatic passports. Piantedosi noted that the matter had previously been discussed and would continue to be reviewed.
The officials discussed enhanced cooperation in counter-narcotics operations, human trafficking prevention, and counterterrorism efforts. Both ministers mentioned the importance of coordinated action to tackle illegal immigration networks and human smuggling.

Italy offers 10,500 jobs for Pakistani workers
Earlier, Italy finally announced job offers for Pakistan. More than 10,000 jobs will be provided to Pakistani workers.
An agreement was signed between Pakistan and Italy officials, and a labour quota has been allocated for Pakistan.
According to this agreement, Pakistani workers will be able to secure 10,500 jobs over the next three years.
This will be a yearly recruitment process through which 3,500 employees will be selected each year.
Fields being Offered
The jobs offered by the Italian companies include many major fields, like:
- Hospitality
- Healthcare
- Agriculture
- Ship Breaking
- Welding
- Technicians
- Chefs
- Waiters
- Housekeeping
- Nursing
- Medical Technicians
- Farming
There will be a mix of skilled and semi-skilled candidates who will be able to attain these job opportunities in Italy.
Two kinds of quotas are being offered by the State, including seasonal and non-seasonal.
Annually, 1,500 Pakistanis will be recruited for the seasonal quota and 2,000 under the non-seasonal quota.
European Jobs Trend
The Italian State is one of the very first European countries offering such bulk jobs for Pakistanis.
It is a great initiative started by the Italian Government, which should be continued for the financial support of Pakistani workers.
As they will be able to nourish their skills in the bigger market, which will also enhance their experience.
Meanwhile, both States will resume the session of the Pakistan-Italy Joint Working Group (JWG) in Islamabad in February 2026.
