The government of Pakistan has increased the price of kerosene oil once again.

The government has increased the price of kerosene oil by 53 paisa per litre, following a wider revision in petroleum product prices on a daily basis.

According to an official notification, the new price of kerosene oil has been set at Rs303.63 per litre, with the revised rate taking effect immediately.

Kerosene remains an important source of fuel for households and small businesses in remote parts of Pakistan where gas and other energy sources are not readily available.

The government said petroleum prices are reviewed based on factors including global crude oil prices, import costs, exchange rates and international economic conditions.

The latest increase comes after the government also raised the price of petrol by Rs1.63 per litre, taking it to Rs335.81 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has also increased by Rs1.55 per litre, with the new rate set at Rs388.38 per litre.
