Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has shared a video of the Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sohail Afridi, on the social media platform X, in which Afridi says that future generations will not stand for the national anthem or carry Pakistan’s flag.
Khawaja Asif said that these words came from a person who calls himself the chief minister of a province.
He added that such freedom exists only in Pakistan, where a person can stay in the country while working to break it apart and spread hatred.
He questioned whether Sohail Afridi had ever condemned the terrorists who kill Pakistanis and carry out attacks on mosques and markets, either during the long march or on any previous occasion.

Khawaja Asif questions Afridi over condemnation of terrorism

Khawaja Asif asked whether Sohail Afridi had ever condemned terrorism since becoming the CM of KP.
He also questioned whether Afridi had condemned attacks on security forces or attended the funerals of security personnel.
He said Pakistan was a country where people could insult the country, talk about breaking it apart and disrespect its flag because everyone enjoyed what he described as unlimited, unchecked and so-called freedom.

Khawaja Asif accuses PTI of benefiting from Pakistan

Khawaja Asif said that the party had been in power in KP for 13 years and had also ruled at the federal level for four years.
He said these were the benefits Pakistan had provided, yet the same country was being insulted. He also alleged that the party had links with Pakistan’s enemies.
According to Khawaja Asif, their loyalty was tied to power, as well as the alleged plundering of provincial and federal resources.
He further alleged that, for the sake of power and plunder, they were always ready to betray the land of Pakistan, which had been nurtured by the blood of martyrs.
