The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has removed the bank account condition for the KP Ramzan Package 2026 after public criticism.
The Ramzan package earlier provided Rs12,500 to eligible families. Many people objected to the rule that required a bank account.
Citizens, social activists, and local representatives said the condition was not practical. They said that many poor families do not even have access to banks or bank accounts.
In many remote or isolated areas, banking facilities are limited or not available at all. And because of this, many deserving families faced difficulties to receive aids.
According to the updated process, applicants can now register with their CNIC, mobile number, and basic personal details.
Officials have said this step will make it easier for families in far away or isolated areas to receive support.
Authorities have also stated that the revised system will make the process more transparent.
They also said it will reduce delays and help deliver financial assistance quickly across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Social workers and local leaders have welcomed the decision. They described it as a practical move to ensure wider and fair access to the Ramzan relief package.
Maryam Nawaz Ration Card
The Punjab government has announced a major financial relief package for registered workers during the holy month of Ramzan under the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card and Nigehban Ramzan Program 2026.
According to the details, following instructions from the Chief Minister, the Social Security Department has increased the monthly financial assistance for workers from Rs3,000 to Rs10,000 under the Ramzan package.
How to collect Ramzan 2026 financial aid?
According to the reports, the Commissioner of Social Security, Zulfiqar Ali Kharl, stated that over 1.2 million registered workers across the province will receive this assistance through the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card.
In addition to this, the beneficiaries can claim the amount either in cash or in the form of ration supplies during the month of Ramzan.
