Police have uncovered an alleged drug supply network operating in Lahore on a model similar to the network previously associated with a dealer known as Pinky, with suspects in registered drug cases identifying an alleged supplier of weed and ice.
According to police sources, suspects arrested in separate drug-related cases told investigators that a dealer was supplying weed and ice to Lahore.
Police records identify the alleged supplier as Ahmed alias Peer Lala Khan, a resident of Islamabad’s E-11 area. Sources said the drugs were allegedly being transported from Islamabad to Lahore.
Police officials said a lack of coordination between the Islamabad and Lahore police had so far hindered efforts to arrest the alleged supplier, who reportedly operates primarily in Lahore.
According to police sources, Ahmed alias Peer Lala is allegedly supplying drugs to people in affluent areas of Lahore, including Defence, Gulberg, Model Town, Garden Town and Cavalry.
Sources said drug dealers had divided their operations not only by locality but also by city, allowing separate networks to operate across different areas.
CCD police sources drew a comparison between the alleged networks, saying Pinky had previously been accused of operating from Lahore and supplying drugs to Karachi, while Ahmed alias Peer Lala Khan is allegedly running a supply chain from Islamabad to Lahore.
Police sources further claimed that Ahmed alias Peer Lala Khan had been involved in the alleged drug trade supplying Lahore for a considerable period.
Police are continuing to investigate the alleged network and the identities of other individuals involved in the supply chain.
