The weather is expected to become warmer on Sunday. The temperature may reach around 34°C. There is also a chance of rain in the afternoon.
Most districts are expected to remain warm and humid. However, rain along with strong winds and thunderstorms may occur in Murree, Galiyat, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara and Sheikhupura.
Lahore weather today
Moderate rain hit Lahore on Saturday morning and gave some relief from the hot and humid weather.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the city is expected to remain cloudy on Saturday evening. The temperature is likely to stay around 30°C.
The same weather pattern is expected to continue with high moisture and unsettled conditions.
Some showers and thunderstorms may bring temporary relief from the heat. However, hot and humid weather is expected to return after the rain.
The forecast also shows that monsoon currents are moving into the upper and southern parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave trough is also present over the northern parts.
Heavy rains expected
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reviewed the flood situation across the country and directed all relevant departments to stay on high alert as more rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours on Wednesday.
The review took place during a meeting of the Emergency Response Committee held at the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC).
During the briefing, officials said rainfall is expected in the upper parts of the country over the next 48 hours.
They also warned that the rain could increase water levels in rivers and asked all concerned departments to remain alert.
Rain is also expected in parts of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Sindh.
According to the details, heavy rainfall could lead to urban flooding and cause streams and hill torrents to overflow.
