The Punjab government has decided to keep driving licence centres in Lahore open during Eid-ul-Azha.

Several driving licence centres in Lahore will remain open during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays to ensure uninterrupted services for citizens, according to the city’s traffic police.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said that licensing offices at Liberty Market, Greater Iqbal Park, Manawan and the Wapda Town Khidmat Centre would continue operating throughout the holiday period.

The decision has been taken to facilitate members of the public who require licensing services during Eid, a time when many government offices and public facilities remain closed.

Abdul Raheem Shirazi said thousands of citizens were being served daily through various public service initiatives and that efforts were being made to maintain accessibility during the festive period.

He added that the issuance of driving licences on merit and with respect for applicants remained a key priority for the department. Transparency in the licensing process, he said, was being ensured at every level.

The CTO said improving public services was among the core responsibilities of the traffic police, which was why selected licensing centres had been kept operational despite the Eid holidays.

The move is expected to provide relief to residents seeking new licences, renewals and other related services during the holiday period.
