Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra with Nvidia's RTX Spark is coming soon

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra was recently unveiled at Computex 2026, directly competing with the MacBook Pro.

This new laptop features the recently announced Nvidia RTX Spark system on a chip, which includes up to 20 ARM CPU cores, as much as 128GB of LPDDR5X unified RAM, and a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores.

Microsoft claims this performance is comparable to an Nvidia RTX 5070. The expected power consumption is up to 80W.

According to Microsoft, the thermal capacity of the Surface Laptop Ultra is 2.5 times greater than that of the Surface Laptop 7 15.

The Surface Laptop Ultra boasts a 15-inch MiniLED Ultra display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits in HDR mode. It weighs nearly 2kg, similar to a 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro.

The laptop is available in Black or Dark Silver.

The Surface Laptop Ultra will launch this Fall alongside its new chip.

While Microsoft has not disclosed pricing, we estimate it will be in line with the MacBook Pro 16, ranging from about $3,000 to as much as $7,000 (~€8,000) for configurations with 128GB of RAM and 2TB-4TB of storage.

Microsoft Surface Pro 13″ leaked

Quite recently, leaked specs about the Microsoft Surface Pro 13″ came to light.

It is expected to come with the Snapdragon X2 Elite, which includes 12 Prime Oryon cores. It will have 32GB of soldered RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD.

When purchasing, you can choose between 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, but the SSD can be replaced later on.

Recently, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop 8 in 13.8″ and 15″ sizes, along with the Surface Pro. These devices are equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors.

However, the official specifications are set to be announced on June 16.

There might also be models featuring lower power chips like the Snapdragon X2 Plus, but we will have to wait for more information.
