Mobile phone and internet services have been partially disrupted in several areas of Peshawar, causing inconvenience to residents and affecting routine communication.
According to media reports, mobile network signals have been unavailable or weak in different parts of the city, making it difficult for residents to make calls and access mobile internet. Subscribers of several telecom operators have reported connectivity issues, with users experiencing disruptions in both voice and data services.
Customers of Jazz, Ufone, Telenor and other mobile networks have reported partial outages in various areas of Peshawar, although the extent of the disruption varies from one location to another. The reason for the disruption was not immediately clear.
It is worth mentioning here that the mobile packages of all networks are about to get more expensive under the new rules introduced by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Mobile phone packages in Pakistan could face closer regulatory scrutiny and potentially higher prices under proposed rules that would give PTA greater powers to review and redefine telecom markets.
The proposed changes are contained in the draft Telecommunication Competition Rules, 2026, prepared by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.
