Meta has brought its Muse personal AI agent directly to Instagram, allowing users to share content with the AI from their social media accounts.
What can Meta Muse do?
Muse helps users find content, answer questions and handle different tasks across Meta’s platforms. Users can connect Muse to their Instagram account through Accounts Center, giving the AI access to information such as saved posts, messages and feed content.
This allows users to search their own Instagram activity by simply asking Muse. For example, users can ask the AI to find a recipe they saved several months ago.
Muse can also understand detailed requests, help with creative work, answer questions and assist with digital tasks. Over time, it can use information from users’ interactions to better understand their preferences and provide more personalised help.
Why is Muse appearing on Instagram’s share button?
Meta has added Muse to Instagram’s sharing menu to make it easier for users to interact with AI while browsing content.
Instead of opening a separate AI chatbot, users can use the Muse button directly while viewing a post or Reel. They can ask the AI about the content, request a summary or share the post with Muse for further help.
The move is part of Meta’s wider effort to bring its AI tools directly into apps such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
