Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi held a meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday.
During the meeting, the Interior Minister briefed the Prime Minister on his key engagements held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan
On this occasion, consultations were also held between the Prime Minister and the Interior Minister regarding the Interior Minister’s upcoming visit to Tehran, and the Prime Minister provided guidance for the visit.
The meeting also reviewed the overall law-and-order and security situation in the country in detail. The Interior Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the measures being taken to maintain law and order and protect citizens.
The Prime Minister emphasised the need for close coordination and a unified strategy among all relevant institutions to maintain law and order and further strengthen the country’s security arrangements.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is expected to visit Tehran on Saturday to deliver an important message to the Iranian leadership, according to Arab media reports.
Pakistan continues to support diplomatic efforts aimed at facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran amid evolving regional developments.
During the visit, Naqvi is expected to hold meetings with senior Iranian officials and convey key messages related to ongoing diplomatic and regional matters. The trip comes as efforts intensify to encourage engagement between Washington and Tehran, the reports added.
