The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported that monsoon rains have claimed 121 lives across Pakistan since the season began on June 26.
The authority said rain-related incidents killed eight people and injured 17 others during the past 24 hours. The total number of injured people has now reached 381.
The death toll includes 55 children, 41 men and 25 women, according to the NDMA.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded the highest number of deaths, with 55 people losing their lives. Punjab reported 45 deaths, followed by Azad Jammu and Kashmir with 10, Balochistan with eight, Sindh with two and Gilgit-Baltistan with one.
Punjab recorded the highest number of injuries, with 279 people affected. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 80 injuries, while Balochistan recorded 15, Azad Jammu and Kashmir five and Sindh two.
The NDMA said the rains have also caused major damage across the country. They damaged 901 houses, killed or swept away 459 livestock, damaged 36 bridges and affected around 25 kilometres of roads.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered strict monitoring of WASA operations to ensure the quick removal of rainwater during heavy showers.
She directed all concerned departments across Punjab to stay on high alert during the rainy season and continuously monitor stormwater drains and canals. She also instructed irrigation department teams to closely monitor canal water levels to prevent flooding in urban areas.
