A spokesperson advised travellers and tourists to avoid unnecessary journeys during heavy rainfall, warning that wet roads may become slippery while poor visibility could increase the risk of accidents on motorways and national highways.
Motorists in Karachi have been asked to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and use headlights when needed to improve visibility during rain.
People planning to travel to hilly or mountainous regions have also been warned about the risk of landslides and advised to postpone non-essential trips.
The Motorway Police urged the public not to cross flooded roads, streams or rain-fed waterways, as sudden flash floods could pose a serious threat to life.
Travellers heading towards northern areas have been advised to check the latest weather forecasts and road conditions before beginning their journeys.
Drivers were also reminded to avoid using mobile phones while driving and to remain fully focused on the road at all times.
