MQM again demands Judicial Commission on Gul Plaza fire

The MQM on Saturday once again demanded the formation of an independent and impartial judicial commission under the chairmanship of a Supreme Court judge to investigate the Gul Plaza fire incident.

MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar, while reiterating the demand, said the Gul Plaza fire was a tragic and heartbreaking incident.

He said that more than 100 precious lives were lost, adding that the process of identifying missing persons must be completed so that the affected families can find closure.

Farooq Sattar further stated that 30 bodies were recovered from a shop inside Gul Plaza and demanded that authorities release the video footage of forensic examinations conducted at the site.

He also said that traders at Gul Plaza suffered losses worth billions of rupees, calling for transparency and accountability in the investigation.

Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, said that I was the one who arrived on time after the Gul Plaza incident. He said that he ordered the control of traffic near Gul Plaza, adding that he made the water availability possible for the people.


Kamran Tessori urged Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, to take action against those responsible for this incident. He said MQM did not politicise the incident, though the party knows how to play politics.


Kamran Tessori stated that I called the Pakistan Navy for help. He also mentioned that the Pakistan Navy, Rangers, and police saved the lives of people.
