Talal Chaudhry accuses PTI of propaganda against state Institutions

Talal Chaudhry

Interior State Minister Talal Chaudhry alleged that the PTI is involved in spreading propaganda against state institutions.

Speaking on a private television channel, Chaudhry said that intelligence-based operations are underway in the Tirah Valley, clarifying that no large-scale military operation is taking place in the area.

Commenting on requests to meet the PTI founder, he said that jail authorities will decide whether Sohail Afridi is allowed to meet him, adding that such visits are often made “for TikTok videos rather than serious engagement.”

Chaudhry further said that any talks should be held through the Speaker’s office, stressing that negotiations must follow constitutional procedures.

When asked about sending a Pakistani team to the World Cup, the minister said the decision would be taken in line with national and cricketing interests.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar said that covert, intelligence-based operations are continuing in the Tirah Valley and urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to avoid what he termed misleading claims about the situation.

Speaking to reporters in Kot Momin, Tarar said the federal government has taken notice of propaganda related to the Tirah Valley. He added that the government has allocated Rs4 billion for families opting for voluntary relocation from the area.

Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, said that Pakistan should support Bangladesh after it was replaced by Scotland in the T20 World Cup by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“I think we need to stand with Bangladesh on this. It will be in our interest in the long run”, he said.

“Maybe we will get less money. We can manage with less money, but the decision will have far-reaching impacts if Pakistan stands with Bangladesh today,” he added.
