Multan Airport registered its highest-ever daily flights on record by handling 30 flights in a single day.
The report was confirmed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). An FIA spokesperson said immigration procedures were completed for all travelers passing through the airport, with 5,070 passengers processed in total. 2,983 passengers of these flew out of the country, while 2,087 arrived from various international destinations.
According to the FIA’s Multan spokesperson, both flight frequency and passenger numbers at the airport have been on a rise. The spokesperson added that passengers continue to receive efficient immigration services despite the growing traffic. FIA Multan has set up a Public Facilitation Center at the airport, aimed at assisting travelers with immigration-related queries and procedures, to support this increase.
FIA Director Irtaza Hyder commended the immigration staff for their performance in managing the surge in flights and passengers. He noted that the team’s efficiency was reflected in the smooth handling of record-high traffic without compromising service quality.
Officials indicate that the trend of increasing flights and passenger volumes is likely to continue in the coming months.
Moreover, previously, Saudi Arabia announced up to 50% discounts on flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a limited period for Pakistani citizens. The promotion provides an opportunity for passengers to cut one of the biggest expenses of airfare.
Pakistanis might find it especially beneficial for travellers going to Saudi Arabia to visit relatives who are employed or residing there.
The reduced fares could also help the Pakistanis make the pilgrimage more affordable.
