Who will own Multan Sultans? PSL announces auction date

The auction date for Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans has been officially announced on February 4, 2026. According to the post at X, PSL officials have confirmed the auction of the Multan Sultans franchise to be held in Lahore on February 9, 2026.

According to a press release issued by the PCB, five bidders will participate in the auction process to acquire the ownership rights of the franchise, which have been selected by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Bid Committee.

The PCB said that a total of six proposals were received within the stipulated time. After a detailed and transparent scrutiny of the applications received, five bidders were declared technically qualified and will now compete in the auction stage.

CEO HBL PSL statement

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HBL PSL, Salman Naseer, on Monday said, “We are delighted to receive such keen interest in the sale of Multan Sultans’ Franchise Rights. The HBL PSL congratulates the technically qualified bidders and appreciates all parties who engaged with us throughout the tender process. We will continue to explore other exciting opportunities.”

He added, “I’m sure the fans are equally excited for another thrilling Team Auction before the focus shifts to the all-important Player Auction for HBL PSL 11. The final lineup of the eight HBL PSL team owners is going to set the ball rolling for the new era of the HBL PSL 11.”

Retentions announced

The franchises of the teams have announced their player retention before the final commencement of the player auction to be held next week.

Lahore Qalandars: The Platinum includes Shaheen Shah Afridi, Diamond: Abdullah Shafique, Gold: Sikandar Raza, Silver: Mohammad Naeem

Islamabad United: Platinum category includes Shadab Khan, Gold: Salman Irshad, Silver: Andries Gous

Karachi Kings: Platinum: Hasan Ali, Diamond: Abbas Afridi, Gold: Khushdil Shah, Emerging: Saad Baig

Peshawar Zalmi: Platinum: Babar Azam, Diamond: Sufiyan Muqeem, Gold: Abdul Samad, Emerging: Ali Raza

Quetta Gladiators: Platinum: Abrar Ahmed, Diamond: Usman Tariq, Gold: Hasan Nawaz, Emerging: Shamyl Hussain

Multan Sultans: No retentions have been listed, as the auction is yet to commence in this regard.
