The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Murree, just ahead of Independence Day, which is celebrated on August 14 every year.
According to a notification issued by the Murree district administration, the restrictions will remain in place until 16 August 2026 and are aimed at maintaining law and order during the celebrations.
Under the notification, only families will be allowed to visit Mall Road and GPO Chowk during the restricted period.
Tourists planning to visit Murree around August 14 have been advised to take note of the restrictions and follow instructions issued by the local administration.

The national song features renowned Balochi singer Akhtar Chanal, who expresses his deep love for Pakistan through his distinctive traditional style and passionate Balochi lyrics.
