The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has explained the easy method to reissue the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) in case it has expired, been lost, or damaged.
According to a statement issued by NADRA, if your NICOP has expired, or if it has been lost or damaged, you can obtain a new card from any NADRA office across Pakistan. It can also be reissued through the Pak‑ID app.
Procedure:
- For renewal or reprint, no additional documents are required; only the old identity card number is sufficient.
- Self-service kiosks are available at NADRA Mega Centres where applicants can enter their number themselves, update biometric verification, photograph, and signature, and submit the application.
- For payment of fees, digital methods such as Easypaisa, JazzCash, Raast, and e-Sahulat can be used.
- Categories: Applicants can choose Normal, Urgent, or Executive categories according to their needs.
According to NADRA officials, the entire process can also be completed from home through NADRA’s mobile application.
If the application is submitted through Pak-ID, the card will be delivered worldwide to the address provided by the applicant.
They said that NADRA’s aim is to provide the best services to citizens in the shortest possible time through modern technology.
In other news, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) registration centre in Karachi will remain temporarily closed from March 2 to March 7.
According to details, the Orangi Town registration centre has been shut down due to ongoing expansion and renovation work.
During this period, the facility for booking online appointments will also remain unavailable.
As an alternative arrangement, NADRA has deployed a mobile registration van outside the centre at the NADRA Registration Centre, Sector 11-E, Mohammad Nagar, Orangi Town, Karachi.
