The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a temporary suspension of services at 68 registration centres across Pakistan due to satellite connectivity issues.
According to a public notice, satellite communication services will be unavailable on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 8:00am to 9:30am because of technical reasons.
As a result, NADRA services will remain suspended during this period at satellite-linked centres located in remote areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
NADRA apologised for the inconvenience caused to citizens and advised visitors to plan their visits after the restoration of satellite connectivity.
The affected centres include 23 offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 7 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 16 in Balochistan, and 22 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Citizen Facilitation Centres and NADRA registration offices operating in remote regions.
New digital pension verification system
The federal government of Pakistan is preparing to launch a new mobile verification system for pensioners linked with NADRA.
Officials say that this will be an important step toward a digital pension system.
Under the proposed plan, pension payments will be verified through biometric and facial recognition checks carried out by NADRA.
According to the reports, around 1.7 million pensioners may become part of this digital verification system.
Under the new system, pensioners will confirm their “proof of life” through the Pak ID mobile app operated by NADRA.
