NADRA announces new procedure for juvenile ID Card applications

NADRA fees

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new procedure for issuing Juvenile Cards to children under the age of 18, enabling parents or legal guardians to obtain identity cards for their children through a simplified process.

According to NADRA, the first step is to register the child in NADRA’s system, after which the parent or legal guardian must obtain a token.

At the registration counter, the child’s photograph and fingerprints will be captured, while the parent or legal guardian will also be required to complete biometric verification.

Once the data entry process is completed, an approval officer will verify the application. After verification, the required fee can be paid online, and the Juvenile Card will be issued within the selected service timeframe.

NADRA has also announced the service charges and delivery timelines. Under the normal service, the card costs Rs750 and is delivered within 31 days. The urgent service costs Rs1,500 with delivery in 23 days, while the executive service costs Rs2,500 and provides the card within 9 days.

The authority said applications can be submitted by the child’s father, mother, or legal guardian. In the case of the mother or a legal guardian, their presence during the application process is mandatory.

Applicants must provide fingerprints, a mobile number, an email address, and the child’s computerised birth certificate details on the application form.

For further information or assistance, citizens can contact NADRA’s helpline 1777 or visit the authority’s official website.

New digital pension verification system

The federal government of Pakistan is preparing to launch a new mobile verification system for pensioners linked with NADRA.

Officials say that this will be an important step toward a digital pension system.

Under the proposed plan, pension payments will be verified through biometric and facial recognition checks carried out by NADRA.

According to the reports, around 1.7 million pensioners may become part of this digital verification system.

Under the new system, pensioners will confirm their “proof of life” through the Pak ID mobile app operated by NADRA.
