PML-N President and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has advised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take all possible steps to reduce the difficulties faced by poor people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra in Lahore, where the overall political situation of the country was discussed.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed Nawaz Sharif on the current state of the country’s economy.
On this occasion, he said that petroleum prices had to be increased due to the rise in oil prices in the international market.
The Prime Minister stated that the government is trying to provide all possible relief so that the public can benefit as much as possible.
On this occasion, Nawaz Sharif directed that all possible steps should be taken to reduce the difficulties faced by the poor.
It should be noted that the government increased the price of petrol by Rs 55 yesterday, after which the new price of petrol has crossed Rs 321 per litre.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Sindh Zone President Amir Mehsud revealed that oil marketing companies had earlier reduced the supply by 50 per cent under the quota system, which has now been further increased.
He demanded that the government immediately conduct an audit and inquiry into the oil marketing companies to determine who earned how much illegal profit by stopping the supply.
Petrol dealers said that the sudden increase of Rs 55 per litre has placed an additional burden of billions of rupees on petrol pump owners, making it difficult for them to purchase new stock.
