Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Arshad Malik has recently demanded for the addition of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with Quaid-e-Azam on the Rs5000 note.
During the Punjab Assembly, he showed a Rs5000 note and said that the picture of Nawaz Sharif should appear with Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He mentioned Nawaz Sharif’s role in making Pakistan a nuclear power and progressing the country towards major development.
The PMLN MPA added that the former PM helped build new road infrastructure, pushing the nation towards progress.
He went on to say that Quaid-e-Azam created Pakistan and Nawaz Sharif made it a nuclear power.
The proposal was made during a recent session of the Punjab Assembly.
Nawaz Sharif concerned by the situation in GB
Earlier, the former PM and PMLN President Nawaz Sharif shared concerns over the situation in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
He added that he remains committed to the development of the region regardless of election results.
During a public address, he said that he seeks votes based on his performance instead of criticising political opponents.
He made further mentions of his long association with the region, stating that Gilgit-Baltistan holds a special place in his heart.
Nawaz Sharif pledged to make frequent visits to GB if his party returns to power.
