Nawaz Sharif visits Murree amid heavy snowfall

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Murree on Friday with his close family members to enjoy the region’s winter beauty.

Media footage captured a large number of tourists gathered around Sharif’s vehicle as heavy snowfall blanketed the area.

Visitors were seen taking photos and interacting with the former premier, creating a lively atmosphere despite the cold weather. Sharif and his family were spotted enjoying the snow-covered landscapes, adding to the festive mood of the popular hill station during the peak winter season.

Meanwhile, heavy snowfall continues in Malika Kohsar, Murree, leading to stranded vehicles on several roads and power outages in multiple areas.

In Abbottabad, Murree Road has been closed due to snow accumulation, and police have established checkpoints to prevent tourists from heading to Nathiagali. District administration teams have been deployed along with machinery to clear snow and restore accessibility.

Traffic police and rescue teams are actively working to evacuate tourists stuck on Murree Road. The Meteorological Department has forecast continued snowfall in the region, prompting authorities to once again advise citizens and visitors to avoid non-essential travel and exercise caution.
