Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi returned to Karachi on Thursday after completing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
A large crowd from various backgrounds warmly greeted the governor at Jinnah International Airport. He received bouquets and flower garlands from supporters and well-wishers.
During the event, Governor Hashmi congratulated all pilgrims on their successful Hajj and mentioned that he had prayed for Pakistan’s security, unity, and prosperity during his pilgrimage.
He further mentioned that Hajj teaches important lessons of tolerance, brotherhood, compassion, and humanity, encouraging everyone to practice these values in their daily lives to foster harmony and social unity.
Nehal Hashmi appointed as new Governor Sindh
PML-N leader Nehal Hashmi took the oath as the new Governor of Sindh in March. The oath was administered by Sindh High Court Chief Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput during a ceremony in Karachi.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, PML-N Sindh President Bashir Memon, along with party leaders, workers, and other dignitaries.
Syed Nehal Hashmi is a lawyer and politician currently serving as the Governor of Sindh. He took office on March 13, 2026. Previously, he was a member of the Senate of Pakistan from March 2015 to February 2018.
He has held important organisational positions, including General Secretary of PML-N Sindh and adviser to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
