New court timings have been announced across Punjab ahead of the upcoming winter season.

According to the notification by the Lahore High Court (LHC), the working hours of civil and sessions courts across the province have been revised.

What are the new court timings?

Under the revised schedule, courts across the province will operate from 9:00am to 4:00pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, court proceedings will take place from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The new timings will take effect on November 1, 2026.

The revised timings will remain in effect until March 31, 2027.

In Pakistan, working hours for government offices, educational institutions, and other sectors are sometimes adjusted during the winter season or in response to smog.

The operating hours of government schools across Punjab were revised from October 16, 2026, under a new schedule.

According to the revised timings, schools will remain open from 8:45am to 1:30pm from Monday to Thursday, while classes on Fridays will run from 8:45am to 12:30pm.

Teachers, students and parents have been advised to follow the revised schedule to ensure punctual attendance and smooth arrangements for students’ arrival and departure.

The notification also authorises the relevant DEAs to adjust the 15-minute gap between opening and closing times for girls’ schools according to local requirements and convenience. The revised schedule will remain in effect until March 31, 2027.
