How much is new PTA tax for iPhone 14 full series?

PTA Tax Iphone 14 series

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revised the tax rates for registering imported iPhone 14 series devices, effective until April 2026.

According to the updated structure, the new tax rates will apply to users registering their devices through both Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC) and passports.

For the standard iPhone 14, the registration tax has been set at Rs30,321 for CNIC holders, while those registering via passport will be required to pay Rs27,860.

Meanwhile, users registering the iPhone 14 Pro will now pay Rs34,101 on a CNIC and Rs31,640 on a passport.

For the premium iPhone 14 Pro Max, the tax has been fixed at Rs48,235 for registration through CNIC, whereas passport holders will be charged Rs42,615.

Earlier this month, the Directorate General of Customs Valuation under the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) increased the customs valuation of 62 older and used mobile phone models.

The revised list also included premium devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

It is pertinent to note that PTA does not determine the registration taxes itself. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) calculates these duties based on the import value of devices in US dollars.

Old and used mobile phones imported into Pakistan are expected to become more expensive because the FBR has updated customs values for several brands. These include Apple, Samsung, Google, and OnePlus. This will also increase the PTA tax on these phones.

According to the reports, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has increased the customs valuation of imported mobile phones by up to 175 per cent.

An application can be filed within 30 days to review the new customs valuation, the reports add.
