The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced new timings for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Express service in Peshawar.

TransPeshawar has extended the operating hours of one of its BRT express services, allowing passengers to travel later into the evening.

According to an official announcement, the ER-01 Express Route will now operate until 8:30pm, with the last departure time extended by 30 minutes from the previous 8:00pm schedule.

The revised timetable came into effect on Sunday, 13 July 2026, and is intended to improve convenience for commuters, particularly those returning home after work.

TransPeshawar said the extension applies specifically to the ER-01 Express Route, one of the express services operating on the Peshawar BRT network.

The transport authority said the decision was taken to improve public transport services and accommodate increasing passenger demand during evening hours.

The revised schedule has taken effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

SUPARCO predicts Safar moon sighting date

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted the moon sighting date of Safar.

Pakistan’s space agency SUPARCO has said there is a strong possibility that the moon marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Safar will be sighted on the evening of Wednesday, July 15, with the first day of the month expected to fall on Thursday, July 16.

According to SUPARCO, the new moon of Safar 1448 AH will be born at 2:44pm on Tuesday.

By sunset on Wednesday, the moon is expected to be around 29 hours old, while the interval between sunset and moonset in coastal areas is likely to be about 65 minutes, creating favourable conditions for visibility.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also forecast a high probability of the moon being sighted on Wednesday evening. It said the new moon would appear at around 2:43pm, and that visibility conditions would be favourable across most parts of the country, including Sindh.
