The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has issued an urgent alert to Pakistanis seeking jobs abroad, advising them not to fall victim to fraudulent travel agencies promising overseas jobs or work visas.

In a public advisory, the bureau clarified that travel agencies are legally authorised only to provide travel-related services such as airline ticket bookings and hotel reservations. They have no legal authority to arrange overseas employment or secure work visas for job seekers.

The BEOE urged citizens not to pay any money to travel agencies for overseas job placements, stressing that recruitment for foreign employment is carried out only through licensed overseas employment promoters.

To ensure a safe and transparent recruitment process, the bureau advised job seekers to use only the official Foreign Jobs Portal available on the BEOE website. Through the portal, applicants can verify licensed recruiting agencies, explore available job opportunities, and contact authorised recruiters directly, significantly reducing the risk of fraud and illegal recruitment.

The bureau further directed citizens to immediately report any travel agency demanding money or attempting to deceive people in the name of overseas employment to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) so that legal action can be taken against those involved.

Reiterating its warning, the BEOE urged all Pakistanis seeking jobs abroad to verify every employment opportunity through the official Foreign Jobs Portal and avoid dealing with unverified sources or travel agencies offering overseas jobs.
