Nishat Group is preparing to introduce iCaur, a new electric vehicle brand in Pakistan.
The group has planned to do so as competition in the country’s auto market continues to expand.
The group has signed an agreement to bring iCaur to Pakistan through its subsidiary, NexGen Auto.
The brand is part of China’s Chery and focuses on electric and range-extended electric vehicles.
iCaur was launched in 2023 and is known for producing SUVs with a boxy, off-road-inspired design.
The vehicles are built around electric powertrains, including both fully electric and range-extended systems, where a petrol engine is used only to support the battery.
The brand is already present in several international markets, including parts of the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Pakistan is expected to be one of its next destinations.

The current global lineup includes three main models.
The entry-level V23 is a compact electric SUV with styling influenced by older off-road vehicles.

The 03T uses a range-extended system, combining electric driving with a petrol-powered generator.

The V27 is the flagship model, designed with off-road use in mind and targeted at markets where such vehicles are in demand.

Industry observers say the move reflects a gradual shift in Pakistan’s car market, where rising fuel costs and interest in electric vehicles are beginning to shape consumer choices.
At the same time, the market remains largely dominated by established petrol and diesel models, particularly in the SUV segment.
Analysts note that new entrants often face challenges, especially in areas such as resale value, service networks and spare parts availability.
These factors have traditionally played a key role in buyers’ decisions in Pakistan.
Even so, the arrival of another electric-focused brand suggests growing interest in alternative vehicle options, as the country’s auto sector continues to evolve.
