Noman Ali to spin his magic in England as Lancashire welcomes Pakistan star

Pakistan’s experienced left-arm spinner Noman Ali has signed a contract with English county side Lancashire, marking his debut in England’s prestigious County Championship.

Noman will feature in Lancashire’s final six Championship matches of the season, with his first appearance expected against Northamptonshire on August 20. Under the agreement, Noman Ali will represent Lancashire in the final six matches of the County Championship. According to media reports, the fixtures will be played during August and September, with his debut expected in the match against Northamptonshire, scheduled to begin on August 20.

Expressing his excitement, Noman Ali said he was looking forward to playing county cricket in England for the first time and was eager to feature at the historic Old Trafford Cricket Ground. The national spinner said it was an honour to represent a historic club like Lancashire and follow in the footsteps of former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who had a successful stint with the club.

Noman added that Wasim Akram had made significant contributions during his time at Lancashire, and he would aim to continue that legacy through his own performances. It is worth mentioning here that the Pakistan Cricket Board’s selection committee recently did not include Noman Ali in the national squad for the tours of the West Indies and England.

However, his stint with Lancashire provides him with an important opportunity to showcase his skills and strengthen his chances of returning to the national team. The deal is being viewed as a significant milestone in Noman Ali’s career.
