“Operations in Afghanistan will end when Afghanistan’s Taliban regime provides verifiable assurance of compliance with Pakistan’s demand of quitting facilitation of Fitna al Khawarij and Fitna al Hindustan. We are in no hurry.
This is expressed by a senior Pakistani security official while talking to media persons on Monday.
He stated that the Taliban have to choose between Pakistan and Terrorists Groups operating from its soil.
Responding to a question about the duration of the operation, he stated that the timeline of Pakistan’s operations depends on the actions taken on the ground by the Afghan Taliban regime.
He clearly stated that the Afghan Taliban regime is acting as a proxy patron, harbouring multiple terrorist groups to destabilise regional peace.
He added that the Afghan Taliban regime is sustaining itself through a war-based economy under the guise of a distorted religious ideology. According to him, their leadership is driven by financial interests rather than genuine religious principles.
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is consistently sharing details on the progress of the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq. We are totally transparent about it, he added.
Responding to a question, he stated that the Afghan Taliban regime and their Indian backers are consistently spreading fabricated propaganda and false information through their official accounts. All such claims should be fact-checked, as Afghan Taliban official accounts lack credibility.
Pakistan’s operations against terrorists in Afghanistan have received a positive response from oppressed Afghan communities and minorities, he reiterated.
He made it clear that Pakistan has nothing to do with regime change in Afghanistan. That is the prerogative of the Afghan people. Many Afghans are relieved that someone has stood up to these cruel warlords.
Regarding Operation Ghazab lil Haq, he stated, “We have destroyed more than 180 posts and captured over 30 that were of tactical significance. These were being used as launch pads to facilitate terrorist activities. Pakistan is in no hurry to conclude Operation Ghazab lil Haq.
On Iran situation
A senior security official stated that Pakistan is pursuing a balanced policy on Iran, and Iran has also appreciated Pakistan’s response, along with China and Russia. However, he stated that Pakistan has unequivocally expressed its concerns over the targeting of brotherly Arab countries by Iran.
Answering a question, he stated Pakistan is desirous of a stable and peaceful Iran. Pakistan cannot be equated with Iran. The two countries differ significantly in terms of military capability, foreign policy orientation, external engagements, and internal dynamics.
He stated that Pakistan pursues a strong and proactive foreign policy and values its relationships with a wide range of global partners. We believe in constructive engagement to promote stability and prosperity for the people of Pakistan. Pakistan’s relations with the international community are built on mutual respect and trust, he added.
Respondind a question on defence capability, he stated Pakistan is fully capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. This capability has been demonstrated during recent events, including Marka-e-Haq, as well as through our sustained fight against terrorism.
Pakistan’s Armed Forces, with the support of their brave and resilient nation, will thwart all nefarious designs of our enemies. Anyone having any doubt is most welcome to get his notions settled, he added.
Responding to a question regarding KSA, he stated that Pakistan greatly values its decade-old brotherly and strategic relations with KSA.
Answering a question regarding countrywide protests, he stated peaceful protests is the right of people, violence in the garb of protests cannot be condoned.
He made it clear that any attempt to create chaos in the country will be dealt with as per law, and a few miscreants cannot be permitted to bring a bad name to peaceful protesters.
