Pakistani security forces have taken control of the Barawala Kalay check post following an operation along the Afghan border today.

They said Afghan Taliban militants ran away from the location.

Pak Army destroys major Afghan post in Ghulam Khan sector

In the Ghulam Khan sector of North Waziristan at the Pak-Afghan border, the Pakistan Army has carried out a very successful and decisive counter-attack, giving a crushing response to the enemy’s provocation.

According to security sources, the soldiers of the Pakistan Army, demonstrating professional skills and modern military tactics, have targeted an important military post of the Afghan Taliban and completely destroyed it.

As a result of the intense and accurate shelling of the Pakistan Army, the enemy’s fronts and defence installations have become a pile of rubble, causing them to suffer heavy losses in terms of life and property.

Security sources further said that after this vigorous counter-attack, the armed personnel of the Afghan Taliban were forced to abandon their positions and flee from the border area.

This operation is clear evidence that the armed forces of Pakistan are always ready to protect their borders and are fully capable of giving a crushing response to any kind of external adventure.

The superiority of the Pakistani security forces in the Ghulam Khan sector is currently completely clear, and the soldiers are on high alert to deal with any potential threat.

Reports of casualties

Security officials said some Taliban fighters were killed during the operation, while others left the area. They did not provide exact figures.

After securing the check post, forces established control in the surrounding area, officials said.

They added that the situation is now under control.

Rising tensions along the border

The development comes amid increased tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan following recent cross-border incidents.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused militant groups of carrying out attacks from Afghan territory. The Afghan Taliban authorities have denied allowing their soil to be used against Pakistan.

It remains unclear whether the latest incident will lead to further escalation. Officials say security forces remain on alert in the border region.
