Heavy cross-border hostilities are underway along the Pak-Afghan border after unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban, with response from Pakistan under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq remains active across multiple sectors.
The Ministry of Information confirmed precision strikes on militant infrastructure in Paktia and Kandahar. Officials reported that 27 enemy installations were destroyed and nine captured.
Over 133 personnel of the de facto Afghan Taliban were killed in Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq. Border positions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been reinforced, with officials reiterating a zero-tolerance policy toward territorial violations.
Ground engagements were also reported in several districts. Here are the details;
- In Khyber, heavy firing took place in Landi Kotal, Bazaar Zakha Khel, and Tirah, where artillery and quadcopter strikes targeted Afghan Taliban posts.
- In Bajaur, intense fighting occurred in Nawapass 123 and Nawagai, with security forces conducting coordinated retaliatory fire.
- Pakistani forces also reported capturing TTA posts in Nawa Pass, consolidating tactical control in key forward positions.
- Engagements were also reported in Mohmand’s Tor Khel, Gorsal, and Garsal Gate sectors, where several Afghan Taliban check posts were destroyed.
- Around 30 hostile fighters were killed.
- Exchanges continued in Kurram’s Shorko and Kharlachi sectors and in the Arando sector of Chitral.
- In South Waziristan’s Shawal sector, Pakistani forces captured an Afghan post near Paktika province.
- Afghan check posts near Torkham were destroyed, while a post at Angoor Adda was targeted during cross-border exchanges.
PAF precision strikes
The Interim Afghan Government confirmed that Kabul, Kandahar, and Gardez in Paktia province were bombed by Pakistani jets, stating there were no immediate reports of casualties. Eyewitnesses reported a precision strike on a vehicle at Gulbahar Tower in District 16 of Kabul.
Pakistani officials said jets were deployed, including a strike on an ammunition dump in Jalalabad, Nangarhar province. The strikes also targeted command installations in Kandahar and Kabul. Several high-value sites in Kabul were also struck.

Officials have advised heightened vigilance in districts near the border over the next 72 hours and to avoid any unnecessary travel.
