The Pakistan Army has completed the construction of an underpass in Nowshera within six months, providing a new infrastructure facility for local residents. The underpass has been named after Major Majeed Nawaz Shaheed, who was awarded the Tamgha-e-Basalat in recognition of his service.
The project was undertaken by Pakistan Army engineers at the request of local residents to improve traffic flow and facilitate transportation in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Commander Peshawar Corps inaugurated the underpass, which was built as a contribution by the Pakistan Army to the people of Nowshera and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The completion of the project is expected to help maintain smooth traffic flow in the city around the clock, ease daily commutes for residents and strengthen connectivity between different areas. The underpass is also expected to improve road access and reduce difficulties faced by commuters travelling through the area.
As part of the project, a 100-kilovolt-ampere (KVA) backup generator has also been installed to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply. This provision will help keep the underpass operational during power outages and support the smooth movement of traffic.
The completion of the underpass within six months reflects the timely execution of the infrastructure project. Named in honour of Major Majeed Nawaz Shaheed, the facility is intended to serve the local population by improving transportation, enhancing connectivity and making daily travel more convenient for residents of Nowshera.
