Pakistan-Australia 3rd ODI: Moaz Sadaqat injured, taken off field

Pakistani cricketer Maaz Sadaqat has suffered an injury while fielding during a match on Thursday during the Pakistan-Australia 3rd ODI. The injury led to him requiring immediate medical attention on the field.

The incident occurred near the boundary line when Sadaqat attempted to stop the ball. During the effort, his head struck the ground before he collided with a nearby advertising board.

Medical staff rushed onto the field moments after the incident and carried out an initial assessment. Following the examination, Sadaqat was escorted off the field for further medical evaluation and treatment.

No official update on the severity of his injury has been released so far.

Australia opt to bat first

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first in the third and final One Day International (ODI) against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Thursday.

The match serves as the series decider as both teams previously tied 1-1 in the three-match ODI series.

Pakistan claimed a five wicket victory in the opening game, but Australia responded with a 41 run win in the second ODI to level the contest. This has led to today’s match set up as a winner takes all finale.

Previously, the toss of Pakistan vs Australia 3rd ODI had been delayed due to a wet outfield at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The most recent ODI series between the two was played in November 2024. Pakistan won the series 2-1.
