Pakistan has urged all parties involved in the Middle East conflict to fully honour the US-Iran ceasefire and continue dialogue to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made the call during a telephone conversation with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Sunday.
During the call, Dar and Kallas discussed the latest security situation in the Middle East and exchanged views on diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
The Foreign Office said Kallas appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic role and praised its sincere efforts that helped lead to the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
She also voiced concern over recent ceasefire violations and stressed the need to keep communication channels open to prevent fresh tensions.
Dar briefed Kallas on Pakistan’s continued efforts to support a broad framework for lasting peace and stability in the region.
He stressed that all parties should respect the ceasefire agreement and avoid any actions that could increase tensions or threaten regional security.
