Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty, during which the two leaders strongly condemned the Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, both leaders reaffirmed their full solidarity with the Kingdom and expressed support for its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.

The two foreign ministers also discussed cooperation under the R-4 framework, which brings together Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia. They expressed hope that the next R-4 meeting would take place soon to further strengthen ties and improve coordination on regional issues.

The discussion comes amid attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s airports.

At least 19 people have been killed and 364 others injured in a series of missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Houthi group on Saudi Arabian airports during October 2026.

Houthi group has targeted King Khalid International Airport (Riyadh), Abha International Airport, and King Abdullah International Airport (Jazan).

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that the country is ready to provide Saudi Arabia with the support it needs to defend its security and stability.

“Egypt will provide Saudi Arabia with all necessary and possible forms of support to defend its security and stability, protect its resources, territorial integrity and Islamic holy sites,” the Egyptian ‌presidency said in a statement.
