Pakistani Ambassador to the United States (US), Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, on Sunday expressed appreciation for Bank of Punjab (BoP) President Zafar Masud’s contributions to the country’s banking sector.
During an interactive session held with BoP President in New York, Ambassador Sheikh and Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai praised Zafar Masud’s inspiring commitment to the banking sector of Pakistan.
BoP President Masud had survived the PIA Flight 8303 crash in 2020.
On the occasion, he opened up about his professional journey.
It is important to note that he is also the author of the critically acclaimed book, Seat 1C.
At the home of the renowned businessman Dr Abid Sheikh in New York, the Ambassador and Consul General also lauded the role of the Pakistani American community in strengthening ties between the US and Pakistan.
While reflecting on his personal experiences, the BoP President talked about standing headstrong in the face of challenges.
Dr Abid Sheikh further shed light on the book, Seat 1C and praised its lessons on true leadership, purpose and resilience.
Other members of the Pakistani American community were also present at the interactive session in New York.
US envoy to Pakistan discusses diplomacy
Earlier, the US Charge d’Affaires to Pakistan, Natalie Baker discussed the realities of diplomacy. She stated that the US-Pakistan relationship is based on shared interests and mutual respect.
While discussing her professional experience in Pakistan, Baker said her most important achievement was working on economic engagement.
Her top priorities include trade, investment and business cooperation between the US and Pakistan.
