The senior member of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), Naeem Ahmed Kharal, passed away at the age of 69 on June 21.
The late MPA was suffering from liver disease, according to the media reports.
Naeem Ahmed Kharal passed away in Karachi, where he had been receiving medical treatment. His body is being transported to his hometown, Khairpur, for burial.
He was elected to the Sindh Assembly from constituency PS-30 on a PPP ticket and served as a member of the provincial legislature five times during his political career.
Many of the political leaders and members of the party have expressed their condolences to his family over his death, paying tribute to his contributions to public service and provincial politics.
Sindh Assembly Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah extended his condolences to Kharal’s family and described his death as a significant loss for both the provincial assembly and the Pakistan Peoples Party.
“The Sindh Assembly and the Pakistan Peoples Party have lost a sincere colleague,” Syed Awais Qadir Shah said in a statement.
He added that Kharal’s political and public services would be remembered and prayed for the departed lawmaker’s forgiveness and for strength and patience for his family.
Kharal was regarded as an experienced political figure in Sindh and remained associated with the PPP throughout much of his political career.
