Security Forces Foil Armed Incursion Attempt at Pak–Afghan Border in Kurram

Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled an armed infiltration attempt along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border in Kurram on 29 November 2025.

According to local sources, suspicious movement of armed individuals was detected near the frontier as they attempted to cross into Pakistani territory.

Upon identifying the threat, Pakistani security forces launched a swift and decisive response targeting the infiltrators with both heavy and light weapons.

The sudden counteraction caused the armed group to panic and retreat back towards Afghanistan.

This incident comes days after DG ISPR stated on 25 November that Afghan forces often provide covering fire to militants linked to Fitna-al-Khawarij and smugglers, enabling them to take advantage of the chaos to cross the border.

He noted that Afghan forces sometimes engage Pakistani border posts deliberately to divert attention while infiltrators attempt to breach the frontier.

Officials have made it clear that any hostile action or provocation from Afghan forces or militant groups will be met with a firm and forceful response.
