Pakistan security forces responded swiftly and forcefully to an unprovoked attack by the Afghan Taliban on Pakistani border posts in the Kurram sector, targeting several enemy positions and silencing enemy artillery, according to security sources.
The sources said the Afghan Taliban opened unprovoked fire on Pakistani border posts using heavy weapons, mortars and other arms, prompting an immediate and effective response from Pakistani forces.

Security sources further stated that Pakistani forces maintained full control of the border areas and responded decisively to the enemy’s aggression. The intense retaliatory operation forced Afghan Taliban fighters to abandon several positions.
The sources added that the situation along the border is being closely monitored and that Pakistani security forces remain fully prepared and on high alert to respond swiftly and decisively to any further provocation.
It is worth mentioning here that in the current week, security forces also launched intelligence-based operations (IBOs) against Fitna al Khawarij in several areas of Bannu, with explosions reported during the operation after a terrorist explosive cache detonated.
According to security sources, the operations were carried out in the Narmi Khel, Baka Khel and Takhti Khel areas based on intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists. Following the blasts, security forces launched a clearance operation in the area to eliminate any remaining threats and secure the affected locations.
Meanwhile, eight Fitna al Hindustan (FAH) were killed during a sanitisation operation by security forces in Khad Kucha, Mastung, following an exchange of fire, according to security sources.
