Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has launched the Electric Bike Scheme 2026 to help students across the province, with female students receiving electric bikes free of charge.

Under the scheme, the Punjab government will distribute 100,000 electric bikes to students across the province. Female students will receive the bikes free of cost, while male students can buy them through interest-free monthly instalments with a small down payment.
The initiative aims to make travel to colleges and universities easier, safer and more affordable, while also promoting the use of environmentally friendly transport.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old. Some official guidelines also mention an upper age limit of 35 years.
- Be enrolled as a regular student at a degree college or university recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- Hold a valid Punjab domicile.
- Have a valid motorcycle driving licence or a learner’s permit.
- Not own any registered motor vehicle.
The government will provide only one electric bike per family, even if more than one sibling meets the eligibility criteria.
How to apply online
Students can apply only through the official Punjab government portal.
Step 1: Visit the official application portal when registrations open.
Step 2: Register or sign in using your CNIC, student details and contact information.
Step 3: Fill in the online application form.
Step 4: Upload the required documents.
Step 5: Submit your application.
Step 6: Wait for the verification process and the computerised balloting.
Step 7: Check your application status through the official portal.
Applicants should avoid unofficial websites or agents claiming they can guarantee approval.
