Noreen Niazi has sparked controversy after saying that Pakistan lost the May 2025 conflict with India, a claim that drew strong criticism from political opponents and commentators in Pakistan.
Her remarks were widely shared by several Indian media outlets and on social media, prompting a fresh political debate over national security, patriotism and political rhetoric.
The statement triggered backlash from critics, who accused her of undermining Pakistan’s official position on the conflict.
Earlier, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had issued a notice to Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, over negative remarks against the Pakistan Armed Forces and praise for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In this case, Noreen Niazi has been asked to explain her controversial statement. She has also been directed to appear before the relevant authorities on the scheduled date for further investigation into the matter.
The authority has directed her to appear personally before the investigator at the NCCIA to record her statement. Furthermore, the notice states that failure to comply may be construed as an indication that she has no defence to present regarding the matter.
