The Pakistan Navy carried out a prompt humanitarian rescue operation in the Arabian Sea, providing immediate assistance to the crew of the vessel MV Gautam.
According to security sources, the ship was travelling from Oman to India when it experienced a technical malfunction at sea.
The Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre in Mumbai alerted Pakistani authorities about the incident. Acting swiftly on the information, the Pakistan Navy launched a rescue operation without delay to ensure the safety of the vessel and its crew.
On the instructions of the Pakistan Navy, a Pakistan Maritime Security Agency vessel, PSMA Kashmir, was dispatched for the mission. During the operation, food, medical aid, and technical assistance were provided to the six Indian and one Indonesian crew members on board.
Security sources confirmed that all crew members received timely and safe assistance, bringing the situation under control.
The sources further stated that the Pakistan Navy remains always ready and committed to providing effective and immediate assistance in any emergency in the Arabian Sea. They added that such operations reflect their professionalism and humanitarian spirit.
It is worth mentioning here that on April 21, the Pakistan Navy successfully carried out a live demonstration firing of the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile, which is an indigenously developed anti-ship weapon system. This was a strong display of precision strike capability and operational readiness.
The Air-Launched Cruise Missile performed its task with a high degree of precision, confirming the capability of the Pakistan Navy to detect, monitor, attack and effectively counter sea-based threats of the enemy at long distances.
The officials stated that the demonstration was a key improvement in national defence capabilities and enhanced the coordinated multi-domain strike posture of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the conventional warfare spectrum.
