On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Inter-Services Public Relations declared that the Pakistan Navy had successfully carried out a live demonstration firing of the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile which is an indigenously developed anti-ship weapon system. This was a strong display of precision strike capability and operational readiness.
The Air-Launched Cruise Missile performed its task with a high degree of precision confirming the capability of the Pakistan Navy to detect, monitor, attack and effectively counter sea-based threats of the enemy at long distances.
The officials stated that the demonstration was a key improvement in national defence capabilities and enhanced the coordinated multi-domain strike posture of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the conventional warfare spectrum.
The Pakistan Navy reaffirmed its strong determination to protect the maritime interests of the country and to protect its sovereign waters.
This significant milestone was praised by the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, the Chief of Defence Forces, and the Services Chiefs, who complemented the scientists and engineers who worked on the project.
The same development had occurred in the past where the Inter-Services Public Relations declared that the Pakistan Navy had successfully tested an anti-ship missile that was developed locally.
The missile was successful in hitting its target according to ISPR during the test, which indicates that it has high speeds, long ranges, and a remarkable accuracy able to reach its target.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf was present during the launch and a group of scientists and engineers who had worked on the development and testing process was also present.
ISPR also announced that the missile has a sophisticated guidance system, which is meant to successfully manoeuvre around enemy defence systems.
The successful test highlights the increased defence measures of the Pakistan Navy and its determination to ensure peace and stability in the area.
