Pakistan ended the second day of the first Test match at 179 for the loss of one wicket in reply to Bangladesh’s first-innings total of 413 runs, still trailing by 234 runs.
According to details, Azan Owais and Imam-ul-Haq opened the innings for Pakistan. Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed after scoring 45 runs. He was followed by Abdullah Fazal, who remained unbeaten on 37 runs at stumps, while Azan Owais was batting strongly on 85 runs. Pakistan will resume their innings on the third day, still needing to overcome a significant first-innings deficit.
Earlier, the Bangladesh national cricket team resumed the second day at 301 for 4 and were eventually bowled out for 413. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto starred with 101 runs, while Mominul Haque scored 91 and Mushfiqur Rahim added 71 runs.
Among the other contributors, Litton Das made 33, Taskin Ahmed scored 28, and Taijul Islam added 17 runs. For the Pakistan national cricket team, Mohammad Abbas claimed five wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets. Hasan Ali and Noman Ali picked up one wicket each.

At the end of 45 overs, Pakistan had reached 179 for the loss of one wicket, with Azan Owais batting confidently on 85 not out, while Fazal Mahmood was unbeaten on 37.
Pakistan’s batting lineup looked composed as the visitors steadily reduced the deficit against Bangladesh in the Dhaka Test.
Earlier, Bangladesh resumed day two on 301-4 with Mushfiqur Rahim batting on 48 and Liton Das on 8.
Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas provided the breakthrough by dismissing Liton Das for 33 runs, preventing the hosts from building a bigger partnership in the morning session.
Abbas struck again to remove Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 10 runs. Bangladesh lost their seventh wicket when Tajul Islam was caught by Mohammad Rizwan off Abbas after making 17 runs.
By lunch, Bangladesh had reached 380 for 7, with Mushfiqur Rahim batting on 71 alongside Ebadot Hossain.
After the break, Mushfiqur Rahim fell to the pace of Shaheen Shah Afridi without adding to his score. Ebadot Hossain was then caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan off Mohammad Abbas without scoring, while Taskin Ahmed was dismissed by Shaheen after scoring 28 runs. Nahid Rana added 4 runs.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas claimed five wickets, while Shaheen Afridi took three. Hasan Ali and Noman Ali picked up one wicket each. Pakistan had earlier won the toss and elected to bowl first.
