The Embassy of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary suspension of passport services due to ongoing technical maintenance.

According to an official statement, all passport-related operations at the Embassy will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday, April 29–30, 2026. During this period, applicants will be unable to submit new applications, renew passports, or collect processed documents.

The Embassy clarified that the suspension is solely due to technical maintenance, adding that normal services are expected to resume once the scheduled work is completed.

Pakistani nationals in Saudi Arabia, particularly in Riyadh and nearby areas, have been advised to plan accordingly and avoid visiting the Embassy on the affected dates.

Officials also urged citizens to stay updated through the Embassy’s official communication channels, warning that a surge in visitors is expected once services resume.

Saudi Arabia announces big update on expired visit visas

General Directorate of Passports has introduced a new initiative allowing holders of expired visit visas to extend their stay solely for final departure from Saudi Arabia, regardless of the visa type or category.

The move aims to streamline exit procedures and regulate residency by facilitating the departure of individuals who have overstayed their visas.

According to Jawazat, the extension process must be completed Absher platform, specifically through the “Tawasul” service.

Authorities urged eligible individuals to apply promptly, cautioning that no further extensions or exemptions will be allowed after the specified deadline.

Earlier this month, Saudi security forces detained nearly 15,000 individuals during a nationwide crackdown targeting illegal residency and labour violations.

Between May 8 and May 14, a total of 14,987 violators were arrested, including 9,212 for breaching residency laws, 3,502 for border security violations, and 1,873 for labour-related offences across various regions of the Kingdom.
