Pakistan’s T20 cricket team will depart for Japan tomorrow, Thursday, to participate in the Asian Games, with Sahibzada Farhan set to lead the national side. The team is currently undergoing a training session at the National Bank Cricket Stadium as part of its preparations for the tournament.
Former Pakistan Test head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed also attended the team’s practice session. Ali Raza, Ahmed Daniyal, Saad Masood, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Wasim Junior, Sahibzada Farhan and Haider Ali participated in the training session.
Meanwhile, Saim Ayub, Maaz Sadaqat, Usman Khan, Sufiyan Muqeem and Hassan Nawaz will join the squad at a later stage. Speaking to the media, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson confirmed that the team would travel to Japan tomorrow for the Asian Games.
Hesson expressed disappointment over Salman Mirza’s injury but said Pakistan’s batting could benefit if the playing conditions in Japan prove favourable. He said the team would focus on adapting quickly to the conditions and maintaining its preparations ahead of the competition.
