Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke by phone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday, according to the Foreign Office.
Dar thanked Türkiye for hosting the meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee. The two ministers reviewed progress on the understandings reached during their meeting in Istanbul.
They also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance and exchanged views on regional and global developments.
Dar and Fidan discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to increase cooperation at international forums. They agreed to stay in close contact.
Pakistan and Türkiye also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation under the Makkah Defence Alliance.
Earlier, Dar held a separate phone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. The two ministers discussed Pakistan-Egypt relations and exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly regional security.
Abdelatty invited Dar to visit Egypt at a mutually convenient time.
Both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties and remain closely engaged on regional security issues. They also agreed to meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
